Thick Handle Dumbbells

Thick Handle Dumbbells Fat Bar Training

I recently converted my 2" thick handled dumbbell to a 2 3/8" Thick fat handled dumbbell by slipping a sleeve over the top. This makes the dumbbell handle the same thickness as that of the inch dumbbell.

In this video I have 60kg on the bell and will be working upto a clean of 78kg (Inch dumbbell) in the future.

Laine Snook Millenium Dumbbells

Laine Snook Millenium Dumbbells

Laine Snook is certainly holding up as one of the great grip champs.

Here from Kb Training For Sport

I thought the Inch dumbbell was a real challenge to most Superhumans

Here Laine deadlifts 2 x Millenium dumbbells - incredible!

If I'm not mistaken the Millenium Dumbbell is 2 3/8" diameter and 238lbs

Note also that Laine has pressed overhead the Inver Stone for reps and (unnassisted) lifted the Dinnie Stones. He was also World Record Holder of the Ironmind Rolling Thunder.

The Inver Stone overhead is one of my challenges for 2009.

Also here, Laine cleans the Inch Dumbbell

Fat Bar Training For Grip

Fat Bar Training For Grip

I recently turned a 2" Fat dumbbell into an even fatter dummbell with 2 plastic sleeves. This dummbell is now 2 3/8" diameter and very similar in size to the 'Inch Dumbbell'. The weight is 70kg.

This was my first time in trying and was a real challenge. The next move will be to stand up completely with it and eventually clean it!!! Now that would be out of this world and an 'amazing grip of steel'
